New LIFE Weekly 6.26.07

SERMON SEEDS

Last Sunday, in our series called “Born Identity”, we talked about being relevant. This word is tossed around a lot in the church world today as we strive to communicate how a life in Christ relates to how we live in the world. God is relevant! He does matter to this world! The question is, “is He relevant to your life?” I am convinced that Christ will never be that relevant to our lives until we have made Him REAL in our hearts.

Here’s a great Bible study that you can have with your family on this subject. The first way to make Christ REAL to your life is to Read the Book (the Bible).

1. Look up these verses and discuss why reading the Bible is important to a Christ-follower. (Psalm 119:9, 11, & 105, Heb. 4:12)

2. Look up (Heb. 5:11-6:1). Discuss how it is easy for a Christian to stay immature in their faith. Then, discuss ways that God wants you to mature in and the steps that you can take to reach that maturity level.

3. Challenge each family member to read their Bible everyday for one week and then discuss how God spoke to them through what they read.

WATER BAPTISM

“Have you been baptized yet?” This summer, we would like to have a baptism service. If you are interested in taking part in this or just want to know what this is all about, there will be a special meeting after the AM service on Sunday, July 15th . Please sign up at the welcome table.

Go to this website: http://youth.ag.org/discipleship/waterbaptism.cfm to find out more about Water Baptism and what it’s all about.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

Connect 4 – We’ve had a great response from those who want to participate in this exciting activity throughout the summer. Most of you should have received the names of the people in your group. Now, we encourage you to get a hold of each other as soon as possible and plan out 4 meeting dates for the rest of this summer (and September). If you know of people who have not signed up, invite them into your group and give their names to Michelle Miles. Have fun!

Ironmen Men’s Ministry – On Friday, June 29th at 7pm, Dr. H Ray Collver, a WW2 veteran, will be sharing his story of survival in the war and challenging us to live as Godly men. There will be food served, so you won’t have to worry about dinner. See you there!

Womens Breakfast – The ladies will be meeting at the church at 8:30am on Saturday, June 30th, then walking to the Nicolet restaurant. All ladies are invited to attend!

Leap of Faith Lambeau – We are encouraging our New Life families to register online at www.leapoffaithlambeau.org and attend this life-changing, community-altering event on Saturday, July 7th at Lambeau Field. You will find all the information you need on this website.

Team Leaders Meeting – We have changed the Team Leaders meeting to Tuesday, July 10th at 7:00pm at the church. See you there!
